1. PURPOSE
These Terms and Conditions (“T&C”) govern the engagement of Special Novels’ services, including:
* Self-Publishing Coaching
* Professional Self-Publishing
* Ebook Publishing
* Ghostwriting Publishing (Basic, Medium, Extense)
2. SCOPE OF SERVICES
2.1. Self-Publishing Coaching: Weekly mentorship, editing, interior layout, cover design, ISBN assignment, Amazon publication, and basic promotional materials.
2.2. Professional Self-Publishing: Three-month program providing professional tools, strategic guidance, technical support, editing, design, and publication.
2.3. Ebook Publishing: One-month service converting a completed manuscript to Kindle format, cover design, ISBN assignment, and Amazon publication.
2.4. Ghostwriting Publishing: Full manuscript writing (up to 30,000, 50,000, or 70,000 words, depending on the package), advanced editing, interior and cover design, e-book and print formats, ISBN assignment for both editions, and 10 courtesy print copies.
3. PRICING AND PAYMENT TERMS
3.1. Self-Publishing Coaching: USD 3,000, payable in up to five equal monthly installments.
3.2. Professional Self-Publishing: USD 2,000, payable in monthly installments.
3.3. Ebook Publishing: USD 700, payable in two equal installments.
3.4. Ghostwriting Publishing Basic (30,000 words): USD 7,500, payable in two installments of 50% each.
3.5. Ghostwriting Publishing Medium (50,000 words): USD 9,000, payable in two installments of 50% each.
3.6. Ghostwriting Publishing Extense (70,000 words): USD 12,000, payable in two installments of 50% each.
3.7. Automatic Withdrawal Schedule
* Self-Publishing Coaching installments are withdrawn automatically once per month over five months.
Professional Self-Publishing installments are withdrawn automatically each month over two months (first and second month).
* Ebook Publishing installments are withdrawn automatically at project start and at project midpoint.
* Ghostwriting Publishing installments are withdrawn automatically at project start and at the halfway point of the agreed timeline.
4. TIMELINE AND DELIVERABLES
4.1 All project timelines begin upon receipt of the initial payment.
4.2 Self-Publishing Coaching: up to 10 months.
4.3 Professional Self-Publishing: 3 months.
4.4 Ebook Publishing: 1 month.
4.5 Ghostwriting Publishing: up to 4 months, with scheduled interim deliverables and revision rounds.
5. REVISIONS AND CHANGE REQUESTS
Each service includes up to two rounds of revisions at no additional charge. Any further changes will be quoted and billed separately.
6. CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
6.1 Cancellation before the second installment: 50% refund of total payments made, less any costs already incurred.
6.2 Cancellation after the second installment: no refunds.
If Special Novels fails to deliver the contracted services, the client may request a prorated refund for undelivered portions.
7. ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS
When you use our services, contact SN, or send emails, you are engaging in electronic communication with SN. You consent to receive communications from SN electronically. SN may contact you by email or by posting notices on the Site. You acknowledge and agree that all agreements, notices, disclosures, and other communications provided to you electronically comply with the legal requirements for written communication.
8. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
8.1 The client retains 100% ownership of all original content and manuscript.
8.2 Special Novels grants the client all rights necessary for publication across contracted formats.
8.3 Ghostwriters waive any copyright claims to the texts they produce, and the client is recognized as the legal author.
9. COFIDENTIALITY
Both parties agree to maintain strict confidentiality regarding all proprietary information shared during the engagement.
10. LIABILITY AND WARRANTIES
10.1 Special Novels warrants professional quality and timely delivery of services but does not guarantee 10.2 commercial outcomes (e.g., sales volume or ranking).
In no event shall Special Novels’ total liability exceed the total fees paid by the client.
11. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION
These T&C are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, USA. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms will be resolved exclusively in the courts of Portland, Oregon.
By engaging any of our services, the client acknowledges and accepts these Terms and Conditions in full.
